I think it’s about time I watched Andrei Rublev.

This has been such an interesting week. I think I’ve needed time to be quiet.

“Chimay is an authentic Trappist beer. That means that it is brewed within the walls of a Trappist monastery under the control and responsibility of the community of monks, and whose revenue is devoted to social service.” —

Trappist beers (via rburkej)

I KNEW I loved Chimay, but now I have an excuse to fork over the little extra for it. Yayyy

I love Trappist beers because I consider drinking them to be an act of mercy

Just found out there is an open day at the end of June for the school I want to go to more than anything. Except it’s in the UK, and I’m about $1,576 short of a ticket from Detroit to London.

Waiting anxiously for a phone call from the Kingsville-Gosfield Heritage Society, where I applied as an archivist assistant, which would be the perfect job. Please call me back.

I could make a great lazy-ass-in-residence if anyone wanted to hire me. I’m good at reading books. I could follow you around and sing you songs. Provide a live commentary on your life if you like.

“Unity and questions of unity and of mobilization are now always questions of articulations of difference. There are no political programs that can be constructed around issues which try to subsume, within their own terms, all the other identities and antagonisms they’re attempting to mobilize around…We are still in the process of experimenting with a new form of politics where the constitution of identities, the winning of identification, is itself part of the political struggle, not something preliminary to that struggle. The situation, moreover, is extremely dramatic when the forms of resistance and political mobilization required to address this crisis are difficult to understand. This is the gap I feel- between theoretically understanding the political moment we’re in and not yet having a practical grip on the concrete forms in which to conduct the urgent political struggles we have to wage.” —Stuart Hall- Discussion on Popular Culture: Theory and Criticisms in Black Popular Culture
